Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association is a leading voluntary organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Their mission includes advancing research to eliminate Alzheimer’s, providing support for affected individuals and families, and promoting brain health to reduce dementia risk.

Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA)

The AFA focuses on delivering quality care and support to people living with dementia, as well as their caregivers and families, through member organizations committed to improving life for those affected.

Medicare.gov

Contrary to popular belief, Medicare does not cover all long-term care costs after age 65. Medicare.gov is a valuable resource to understand which services are covered and where additional insurance or planning may be needed.

National Council on Aging (NCOA)

The NCOA provides tools, tips, and resources designed to help older adults and caregivers maintain independence and enhance daily living.

The Parkinson’s Foundation

The Parkinson’s Foundation works to improve life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease by advancing care and supporting research toward a cure. They also offer guidance for when additional assistance may be necessary.

Paying for Care – Long-Term Care Funding

The cost of long-term care varies depending on the setting—home, hospital, assisted living, or nursing facility—and the individual’s financial resources. Many people use a combination of personal funds, government programs, and private financing. The National Institute on Aging offers a helpful overview of these options.

Rock Steady Boxing

Rock Steady Boxing is a nonprofit organization with locations across the U.S., providing a non-contact, boxing-based fitness program designed to improve the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Local classes are available nationwide.

Absolute Golden Care partners with Teepa Snow, a nationally recognized dementia care expert with over 30 years of experience. She provides training and resources to improve the care and support of individuals with dementia.

INconnect Alliance – Support for Caregivers

Provides information and assistance to help caregivers access local services, respite options, and long-term support solutions.

Family Caregiver Alliance

Offers education, resources, and support groups for family caregivers managing chronic illness or memory care.

Caregiver Action Network

Provides practical tools, educational materials, and peer support for family caregivers across all care settings.

National Institute on Aging – Caregiving

Offers tips, research-based strategies, and resources for family caregivers of older adults with chronic or memory-related conditions.

Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC)

Enforces Indiana civil rights laws, prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing, education, public accommodations, and credit. This includes Fair Housing laws and many provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDS)

Provides services for people with developmental disabilities. Services include residential facilities, independent living support services, person-centered planning, and vocational services. To apply for services or obtain more information, contact your local district office.

Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services

Advocates for people with disabilities. Investigates incidents of discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Provides information and technical assistance, assists families in securing appropriate medical services and free appropriate public education, and offers additional advocacy support.
